Hello there, OVERachievers! We've all heard our fair share of advise on how much water to drink and when because hydration is a trendy topic. But hold on to your water bottles because it's time to debunk some myths about hydration!

Myth 1: 6 Glasses of water a day is a mustΒ 

You've probably heard that in order to be healthy, you need to drink six glasses (or around 2 liters) of water each day.

While it is true that drinking water is important, your real hydration requirements differ depending on your age, amount of exercise, and climate. Pay attention to your body; it can usually tell you when it's thirsty.

Myth 2: You should not overhydrate

That is true, sometimes too much good things may lead to a negative effect ! Hyponatremia, also referred to as overhydration, can be harmful.

It happens when you drink too much water, which causes the salt level in your blood to drop dangerously low. Finding a balance that works for you is the key.

Myth 3: Caffeine can cause you to dehydrate

Even though drinking caffeine in moderation can have diuretic effects, which make you urinate more frequently, they don't always result in dehydration.

While they can cause fluid loss, if you balance them out with enough water consumption, you can indulge in your morning coffee occasional without the fear of being dehydrated!

Myth 4:Β Thirst Is a Poor Hydration Indicator

The system your body has to detect thirst is generally reliable. Your body uses thirst as a signal that it needs to hydrate. Drink more if you're thirsty! Dehydration can result from denying one's thirst.
